Edmonton, AB (April 24, 2018) – This month, TEC Edmonton welcomes Wayne Karpoff as the new Chair of TEC Edmonton’s Board of Directors. A TEC Edmonton board member since 2006, Wayne is a longtime leader in Edmonton’s business community and is the President and CEO of Willowglen Systems, an Edmonton-based company that develops automation solutions for many industries worldwide, including oil & gas, power, transportation and water.
Wayne has over 30 years of corporate experience as an entrepreneur in the advanced technology sector and a long track record of building businesses to become technology leaders. Before becoming CEO of Willowglen, Wayne founded the Edmonton-based data storage startup YottaYotta, which was acquired by EMC (now DELLEMC) to create the VPLex product line. Prior to founding YottaYotta, Wayne joined the technology startup Myrias Research Corporation, a Canadian supercomputer entry where he took the company out of receivership and ran it as president. Wayne has significant management experience in all aspects of creating high-growth technology companies.

- Ryan Heit, Director, Merck Invention Accelerator. Ryan will lead this inaugural program and collaboration between TEC Edmonton and Merck Research Labs. The business accelerator aims to advance the success of emerging health technologies to save and improve lives globally.
