Edmonton, AB, Canada (February 26, 2018) – On February 22, TEC Edmonton was ranked #3 on the UBI Global list of World Top Business Accelerators linked to a university. In 2015, UBI Global ranked TEC Edmonton 16th best in the world, fourth in North America and third in Canada.
UBI Global is a Stockholm-based research and advisory firm that maps and evaluates the world of business incubation. They officially announced their bi-annual ranking at the World Incubation Summit 2018 in Toronto. TEC Edmonton is among 259 finalists from 53 countries selected from 1,370 submissions.

As per UBI Global, a World Top Business Accelerator – Linked to university are business accelerators managed by, affiliated with, or that collaborate with one or more universities.
Over the last 18 months, TEC Edmonton:
- Opened the TEC Innovation District: a vibrant street-level co-working space located in downtown Edmonton including 24-hour access for participants along with a full suite of services.
- Initiated the TEC Launch Program: an initiative for entrepreneurs to scale up their business.
- Started company recruitment for MerckInvents@ TEC Edmonton: an accelerator and partnership with Merck Canada
TEC Edmonton has several corporate and government partnerships including Alberta Innovates, National Research Council Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program, Western Economic Diversification Canada, TELUS, Merck Canada Research Labs and DynaLIFE Medical Labs.
