As a University of Alberta campus manged by BentallGreenOak property management, TEC Centre initiated the following protocols in response to COVID-19. 

The following provides high-level information regarding new requirements at Enterprise Square, specifically TEC Centre.

For reference, here is the University of Alberta’s Anticipated Phases of Relaunch.

For companies in TEC Centre, TEC Centre Labs and TEC Innovation District

Step 1: Perform AHS self-assessment at home and only come into the building if all responses are no

Step 2: Complete your company’s attendance log or any other requirements stated by tenant’s management

  • No more than 3 people in the elevator at a time. Wearing a mask in the elevator is mandatory
  • Wearing a mask is mandatory in all areas with the exception of single use workspaces.
  • The City of Edmonton exemption card is not valid on university property.  Individuals who are not able to wear a mask must provide medical proof.
  • Face shields are not an acceptable substitute for face masks, but can be used in combination with face masks.
  • Supplies to use within their leased space including:
    • Hand sanitizer
    • Disinfectant
    • Paper towel
    • Masks for staff
    • other supplies as required
  • COVID-19 emergency plan specific to their company
  • Attendance tracking
  • Physical distancing plans within leased space
  • Phasing-in of staff, keeping TEC Centre reception informed (reception@tecedmonton.com)
  • Disinfecting high-touch points within their own space (eg: door handles, desks, equipment, water coolers, etc…)

The TEC Edmonton team will continue to serve you virtually every weekday during regular business hours.

Starting September 1, 2020, we will provide you limited on-site support on Monday and Thursday mornings.

On site schedule:
Monday: 9:30 a.m – 1:30 p.m.
Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Mail:
You can pick up your mail from your mailbox in Room 4005 as we will be distributing mail on the days above.

Deliveries:
BentallGreenOak will bring most packages to 4th floor reception so please check for your packages in the usual spot – the table under the TV. 

For larger deliveries, BentallGreenOak will notify you to pick up from the loading dock.

Outbound packages:
Continue to take down to the mail room in the concourse level.

  • Masks must be worn in kitchens
  • No dishwasher use
    • Recommendation is for individuals to bring their own dishes and cutlery. If using items in kitchen, wash by hand before AND after using
  • Areas designated and cordoned off
  • Signage to manage traffic 
  • Hand sanitizer for people to use before eating
  • Disinfectant available for individuals to sanitize their eating location before and after use
  • Masks required
  • Stalls, sinks and urinals reduced to encourage physical distancing
  • Increased cleaning frequency
  • Capacity reduced to encourage physical distancing
  • Users to sanitize their own work space daily at end of day
  • Face mask at all times regardless whether you are able to physically distance or not
  • Boardroom closed
  • Designated hand washing stations

Currently closed to the public and visitors except for building personnel, security, select TEC Edmonton employees and TID tenants.

  • Masks are required in all areas regardless if you can physically distance or not. 
  • Eating area: at desks or 4th floor designated areas
  • Meeting rooms closed (large & small)
  • Tenants responsible for supplies to disinfect their own work space at end of day

For TEC Edmonton Staff

While employees are currently required to work from home, there are instances where staff may need to come to site to work or drop by for an occasional visit. Staff accessing the 4000 office must follow the UAlberta safety measures general directives:

  1. One-time training is required prior to accessing Enterprise Square for working on site or any occasional visits. The online training is located here. You will need your CCID and password to log on
  2.  After completing the training, send the certificate to your supervisor and reception@tecedmonton.com
  3. Notify your supervisor each time you plan to be on site
  4. Prior to coming on site complete the AHS COVID-19 Self Assessment tool and do not come to campus if any of the answers are yes
  5. Complete the TEC Edmonton attendance log each time you are on site

  • You do not need to wear a mask in single-use workspaces. 
  • If you are working alone in the office, please stop at security on your way in and advise that you are working alone in TEC Edmonton office room 4000. Security will follow up with wellness checks. Do inform security when you are leaving the building.

  • There is a bin containing disinfectant, masks and paper towel located on the table outside the main boardroom
