Edmonton, AB – February 2, 2016 – The deadlines to enter the three 2016 TEC VenturePrize business award streams for new and future Alberta entrepreneurs is fast approaching.
Wednesday, February 24, 2016 marks the final day to apply for the Fast Growth and TELUS ICT VenturePrize Awards.
Monday, February 29, 2016 is the last day to enter the new DynaLIFE Dx Health Award, focusing on innovative companies within the Alberta healthcare industry.
Now in its 14th year, TEC VenturePrize has launched and accelerated the growth of hundreds of innovative Alberta companies, from the fledgling Sensassure’s adult incontinence solutions to Yardstick Testing and Training.
TEC VenturePrize is a juried business competition with over $200,000 in cash and services for the winners and runners-up of its four streams, including the VenturePrize Student category where finalists are picked from regional post-secondary school business competitions.
This year’s finals and award dinner takes place Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Edmonton’s Westin Hotel.
TEC VenturePrize is far more than a competition for prizes. It offers a tremendous business support network, an opportunity for young companies to focus on creating long-term business plans, on-demand education, and mentoring.
Early-bird entrants have taken advantage of a series of seminars on business and marketing.
Each competing company can choose a seasoned mentor to assist them in creating their business plan. Once presented, each business plan is constructively critiqued by the screeners and judges – all being successful entrepreneurs/teachers in their own right.
Winners and runners-up also receive valuable media exposure, plus ongoing support and mentorship from VenturePrize’s many corporate sponsors.
