It’s a Catch 22 which every new entrepreneur experiences.
The new company demands 200% of his or her time. But revenues, to date, are minimal.
There’s no money for extra staff, no time for anything beyond tomorrow.
Above all, the entrepreneur is painfully aware of his or her shortcomings. What’s a business plan anyway? How do I advertise my product? How do I interest investors? What about regulations?
Take a deep breath. Pause the panic button. Help is on its way.

Deloitte's annual Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) predictions January breakfast is becoming a must-attend event in Edmonton, thanks to the quality of the information and the entertaining way in which forecaster Duncan Stewart shapes the presentation.
The first year Deloitte held the event, in January, 2011, a handful of people attended. Last year, about 100 came. This year, on Jan. 24, 2013, the ballroom at Sutton Place was full.
TEC Edmonton was proud to be a sponsor of the event. Thanks to Deloitte's Jeremy Webster for his words of praise about our not-for-profit, start-up company incubator and accelerator. "TEC Edmonton is a powerhouse in the city's technology commercialization world," said Jeremy. "TEC has expanded its assistance far beyond the University of Alberta. Laine Woollard (TEC Edmonton's in-house legal counsel) has done more licensing deals than anybody else in Northern Alberta. And TEC's Executive-in-Residence prog ...

Once again, TEC Edmonton receptionist Audrey Dolinski and her crew of volunteers have done TEC Edmonton proud.
To raise funds for the annual Christmas Bureau drive last month, Audrey shops for and stocks the TEC Centre snack canteen all year round.
This past Christmas, using the canteen's 2012 proceeds of $3,500 plus another $750 raised from a fund-raising drive at the TEC Centre, TEC Edmonton was able to provide about 20 families in need with a Christmas festive dinner.
The groceries for six Christmas Bureau "hampers" were purchased, sorted and then delivered by TEC Edmonton volunteers to six large low-income families registered with the Christmas Bureau. Each family had at least eight members. "We always put way more into the hampers than we're supposed to," says Audrey. "It's Christmas!"
The rest of the funds went to the Christmas Bureau, which ensures no one in Edmonton goes without a festive meal at Christmas. The TEC Edmonton donation ...
