TEC Edmonton helps navigate the commercialization process - transitioning science solutions into business opportunities. Our team has the knowledge and experience to evaluate and protect a tech invention, as well as to advise and grow a viable business. Located in the heart of downtown Edmonton, our TEC Centre is a business incubator, offering early-stage businesses a base for operations.

Our Business Development team, comprised of almost 20 professionals - Executives-in-Residence (EIRs) and Business Development Associates - provide the support and management experience to propel our clients forward.  The 12 person Technology Transfer team is the largest group of Intellectual Property professionals in Alberta with the expertise needed to manage commercialization opportunities.  Finally, the Entrepreneur Development team is a wealth of resources and hands-on applied learning designed to prepare entrepreneurs to lead successful companies.

The Edmonton Economic Development Corporation and the University of Alberta created TEC Edmonton as a joint venture in 2006.
