Chris Lumb, CEO
Previously Chris was the CEO of Micralyne from 1994 to 2009, a micro-electro-mechanical systems developer and manufacturer.  He was involved in all aspects of Micralyne's development, including leading its transition from a university-owned not-for-profit to a privately held company, generating long-term revenue growth of 20% per year for the last 10 years, and delivering long-term profits and return on equity to its shareholders.  Chris is Board Member and Former Chair of CMC Microsystems, Board Member for ACAMP, and Board Member for Radient Technologies. Overall, his career has been centered around building commercial success for advanced technologies, and management of technology organizations to ensure they are profitably focused on addressing market needs.

Randy Yatscoff,  Executive VP Business Development
During Dr. Randall Yatscoff’s 10-year tenure with Isotechnika, he was part of an executive team that raised close to $200 million through various equity financings. The company began as a spin-off company from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining Isotechnika in 1996, Dr. Yatscoff spent 16 years in academic appointments at the University of Western Ontario, University of Manitoba, and the University of Alberta. He retains a position as Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta. He has over 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals and holds more than 20 patents. 

Pamela Freeman, Chief Operating Officer
Pamela has more than 15 years business experience and consulting services to the private and non-profit sector. She has owned and operated her own business, and held senior positions in a number of non-profit organizations. Pamela received a MBA from the University of Alberta and is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). Pamela is the Vice Chair of the Bachelor of Technology Advisory Committee at NAIT, a Board member of the Alberta Health Industry Association (AHIA), a Board member of Westlink and a part time instructor at NAIT, teaching Innovation and Change Management.

Jayant Kumar, Director, TEC Transfer
Jayant started his career as an academic in India. After completing his Masters in Physics from Delhi University, Jay pursued research in the area of particle physics as a Senior Research Fellow of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research. He was teaching Physics to under-graduate students at Delhi University before moving to Canada to pursue an MBA degree at the University of Alberta. Upon completion of his MBA in 1999 with specialization in Technology Commercialization, Jay joined the University of Alberta’s Industry Liaison Office (ILO), the precursor to TEC Edmonton. Jay has held various positions in the Technology Transfer team and assumed the role of Director TEC Transfer in June of 2009. As Director, Jay oversees the commercialization of inventions originating from the University and the local Edmonton region. Jay is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers and the Licensing Executives Society (USA and Canada).
Laine Woollard, Senior Legal Counsel, Technology Commercialization
Laine received his degrees in Pharmacy and Law from the University of Alberta. He spent four years in private practice conducting cases in administrative, corporate commercial, civil and criminal litigation up to and including the Alberta Court of Appeal. He then spent the next four years as in-house counsel and subsequently as a member of the Board of Directors of an Edmonton drug research company with strong corporate connections to a median-size Japanese pharmaceutical company. Laine joined the University of Alberta’s Industry Liaison Office (ILO) in 1994, and continues his role with TEC Edmonton by managing patent portfolios and providing legal counsel on matters pertaining to licensing, contracts, and corporate/commercial issues.
